An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to work in our busy school office. We are seeking to appoint a versatile, well-organised and professional Administration Assistant to join our office team and provide a high-quality service to staff, students, and visitors. Under the instruction/guidance of senior staff, you will provide general administrative support to facilitate the day to day running of the school office.

As Lead First Aider for the school, you will administer first aid for any student or colleague requiring this support during the school day. In addition, you will cover Reception on a daily basis for short periods and deal with enquiries from parents/carers and visitors.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work within a team with a calm, professional and caring persona, and with courteous and caring behaviour to students, colleagues, and parents at all times. Previous experience of working within a school environment would be an advantage.

Business Administration Apprentice - Level 3

Required as soon as possible

Fixed-term for 12 - 18 months, 37 hpw (Term Time Only)

Salary: Apprenticeship terms (£4.81 per hour)

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, and highly motivated, individual to the post of Business Administration Apprentice within our very busy school office.

For this post, excellent inter-personal skills are essential. Candidates must also have the ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and support others in the team.

• The key roles and responsibilities of the apprentice will be to:
  deal with telephone queries efficiently and effectively;
• welcome students and visitors, ensuring all visitors are signed in and monitored in accordance with school safeguarding procedures;
• provide general administrative support including typing, updating records, photocopying, scanning, sorting, and delivering post and postage;
• deal with internal and external post, and telephone queries from other organisations;
• complete regular stock taking of stationery;
• support with dinner money via ParentPay and assist with Free School Meals processes;
• undertake any other administration tasks required by the Head Teacher or Administration team.

The apprentice will undertake training, and receive the qualification, for a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

The school office is open between 8.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must therefore be available to work during these times. Flexibility may be required to accommodate occasional evenings and special events with parents, students, and staff.

EXAM INVIGILATORS

£11.98 per hour

We are seeking to recruit new Examination Invigilators to work with the existing team in the running of all internal and public examinations at Mortimer Community College.

The post would be ideally suited to applicants who feel a sense of responsibility for today’s young people and who are able to work flexible daytime hours. The role is on a casual basis, throughout the academic year, involving morning and afternoon sessions as directed by the Examinations Officer.

As an examination invigilator you will supervise students during examinations and complete a small amount of associated paper work.

Experience of carrying out invigilation duties would be an advantage however full training will be provided for all invigilators and all hours will be negotiated for each examination period.
