Exams Information

Key Information

Mortimer Community College hopes that all students will be successful in their examinations. So that the examinations you take run as smoothly as possible, there are a number of rules and regulations that you must be aware of.

Students will be taking public examinations at various times during years 10 & 11, either controlled assessments or full GCSE’s. This can be a stressful time for students and parent/carers, and it is important that all those involved are as well informed as possible.

Well-informed students will realise that the rules and regulations are designed to ensure fairness and minimise disturbance and it is in the interest of all that the exams run smoothly.

The centre will make every effort to ensure that candidates receive the best possible preparation for their examinations, that the administrative arrangements run smoothly, and that the examinations are conducted in a way that will cause as little stress as possible and help students to achieve their best.

If your child has been entered for an examination and is absent for reasons other than sickness you may be charged the entry fee.

The information on this page is intended to inform you about examination procedures and answer some of the most frequently asked questions to help to guide and support students and parent/carers through the examination process. If you need any further information or have any queries please contact our Examinations Officer, Miss Allan - exams@mortimer.school

Summer 2024 Examinations Timetable Overview

Please note that some students may have more than one examination timetabled on a morning or afternoon. If this is the case, students will sit both exams consecutively, with a supervised rest break in between exams.
